fundraisers, ran a petition drive for campaign finance reform and universal health care, coordinated press conferences and kept the organization on budget. She is currently an active member of the Sierra Club, and has received the highest rating they have given a candidate for the 9/11 election. She has worked for many years to save all of the Ballona Wetlands.
Denise is currently the Coordinator and just served a two year term as Treasurer of the LA Greens. She is also a member of the Los Angeles Green Party County Council. As an organizer she has co-produced a recent Mayoral Forum with all the candidates for LA's mayor at Loyola Law School, balanced the books, raised money, recruited hundreds of volunteers and served on many committees including the endorsement committee which made recommendations and conducted research on all city-wide candidates and propositions.
Denise worked at the National Immigration Law Center, a non-profit dedicated to advocacy, training and impact litigation, until she began her campaign. She was married on June 16, 2001 to Sierra Club leader Rex Frankel.
