Denise Munro Robb has been a community leader since 1989 when she co-founded the Miracle Mile Action Committee. She is currently the President of that organization. The organization has been at the forefront of preserving historic and affordable housing, alleviating parking problems and lowering the crime rate. In May of 2001 the Miracle Mile Action Committee had yet another victory that will ensure the preservation of the district. She also serves as a member of the Wilshire Community Police Advisory Board.

Denise began her activist career at age 12 fighting against nuclear power plants such as Diablo Canyon and San Onofre. Her work took a more serious turn when she served on the board for three years then later as Executive Director for an additional three years at Southern California Americans for Democratic Action. She coordinated
fundraisers, ran a petition drive for campaign finance reform and universal health care, coordinated press conferences and kept the organization on budget. She is currently an active member of the Sierra Club, and has received the highest rating they have given a candidate for the 9/11 election. She has worked for many years to save all of the Ballona Wetlands.

Denise is currently the Coordinator and just served a two year term as Treasurer of the LA Greens. She is also a member of the Los Angeles Green Party County Council. As an organizer she has co-produced a recent Mayoral Forum with all the candidates for LA's mayor at Loyola Law School, balanced the books, raised money, recruited hundreds of volunteers and served on many committees including the endorsement committee which made recommendations and conducted research on all city-wide candidates and propositions.

Denise worked at the National Immigration Law Center, a non-profit dedicated to advocacy, training and impact litigation, until she began her campaign. She was married on June 16, 2001 to Sierra Club leader Rex Frankel.

Some of her endorsers are: SFV National Organization for Women (NOW); Americans for Democratic Action; actor Martin Sheen, Ralph Nader, Medea Benjamin, singer Bonnie Raitt, author Mike Davis ("City of Quartz"), Rabbi Allen Freehling and many others. She has also received the highest rating in this race from the Sierra Club and is endorsed by the Chair of the Sierra Club, Gordon LaBedz.
